About COGIC Aylesbury
Pastor Everald Thomas was appointed Pastor of the COGIC Aylesbury assembly in June 2004 by Bishop A Blake. Prior to this appointment, he served at COGIC Tottenham in North London as an ordained Minister and later as an appointed Elder under the leadership of the late Bishop R C Bell. Pastor Thomas continued to serve under the leadership of Bishop Bell's successor, Supt S E Reynolds until the time of his calling to Aylesbury.
Pastor Thomas is joined by his dear wife Missionary Sheila Thomas on this great mission in Aylesbury. They are blessed with three beautiful daughters, Francine, Hayley and Stephanie. Together they have willingly accepted the challenge with humility, prayer and faith to develop the church in Aylesbury under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
All who comes into contact with Pastor Thomas will experience his passion for praise and worship. He is an anointed speaker and his messages empower his congregation to be the best person they can be through Christ. In his spare time, he is an avid songwriter, and uses this talent in his role as an assistant Choir Conductor of the national Children’s Choir in COGIC. He demonstrates a naturally charismatic style of ministry which enables him to minister to children and young people at their level.
Our Motto
The motto of COGIC Aylesbury is “Always Believe, Believe Always” (St John 14:12-14). We believe that once we have identified and are operating within the will of God, he will endue us with power and strength to withstand and overcome life’s challenges.
Our Mission
Our mission is that every man, woman and child in the community of Aylesbury will know about Jesus Christ, and accept Him as their personal Saviour. We demonstrate God's Spirit through worship, testimonies and the inspired Word of God in our services. We prayerfully encourage a love for Christ, and a desire for righteousness and holiness. Under the direction of the Holy Spirit, we minister to the needs of the people in this assembly and the Community in the knowledge that God can change what seems unchangeable if we just believe.
Our Vision
Our vision is that God will bless our church with increase and that our brethren will be equipped with spiritual gifts, skills and talents to impact our Church, Community and our Nation. To develop a friendly cross-cultural family-oriented ministry for all age groups irrespective of social backgrounds. To establish a vibrant prayer and outreach ministry. To develop a Community Project and other weekly activities that will meet the spiritual and temporal needs of our youth and children of the Community of Aylesbury.
Special Acknowledgements
The brethren of COGIC Aylesbury would like to express special heartfelt gratitude to Evg C V Warner, a pioneer of this great gospel. She has faithfully kept the church going for many years, prior to the arrival and appointment of Pastor Thomas. Special mention must also be made of the faithful support of our dear Sis Harrison who was the first candidate for baptism under Pastor Thomas’ ministry.
